Caption/Description

A terrorist time bomb left overnight in a suburban Westmount mailbox went off and critically injured Sgt. Maj. Walter Leja, a Canadian Army bomb expert, when he tried to disarm it May 17th. The 45-year-old combat veteran of World War II had found and dismantled two other bombs before a third one went off. Leja lost his left arm and suffered severe facial injuries.
