Bhagwati's Temple has been called the Rat Temple. The Temple is dedicated to the Goddess Karniji. The huge, beautiful building with delicate marble carving is built around the inner sanctum and was constructed by the goddess. There are plenty of 'Kabas' (rats number approximately 30 to 50 thousand). It is Karniji, not rats that are worshipped. there.
